J-M Manufacturing Donates Pipe For New Water System In Residential Home For Troubled Teens

The Freedom Village Campus Prepares To Replace Deteriorated Metal Pipes With JMM's PVC Water Pipes

Livingston, NJ – August 28, 2006 – J-M Manufacturing Company, the largest producer of plastic pipe in the world, has generously donated PVC water pipes to Freedom Village, a residential home for troubled teenagers located in Western New York State.  According to Dick Rosenberg, Procurement Director for Freedom Village, it was necessary for the private, faith based home to completely replace their water system, “Our current system consists of old, metal pipes, which have deteriorated significantly over the years.  We made the decision to transition to PVC pipes based on a recommendation from our Project Engineer.”

Steve Goodwyn, Water Works Sales Manager for JMM, was pleased that Freedom Village made the decision to switch to PVC piping for their new water system, “As the industry leader in plastic pipe, we do our best to educate engineers and contractors about the benefits of our products.  It is always encouraging to learn that our PVC pipes are preferred over other competitive materials, such as cast iron or other metal pipes.  We were happy to be in a position to support this worthy endeavor.”

Freedom Village, at any given time, houses 150 to 200 young people, ages 14-21, who need and want help with various aspects of their lives. The 150-acre campus is complete with a school, a full sports and music program, and agricultural facilities, which include horses. JMM's donation of 3,800 feet of 6 DR 18 and 1,500 feet of 4 DR 18 water pipes will carry safe drinking water in this community for years to come.

J-M Manufacturing Company, Inc. was formed in 1982 with the acquisition of eight pipe production facilities. Today, the company operates out of 14 manufacturing plants across the United States, with headquarters in Livingston, New Jersey.  JMM produces water, sewer, solvent weld, electrical conduit, ABS and polyethylene pipe in diameters ranging from ½’’ to 48” for PVC and ½’’ to 63” in HDPE.  JMM is dedicated to developing the plastic pipe market by offering superior products, unparalleled quality, and ensuring that its business makes a positive contribution to the environment, the communities it serves, its customers, and employees.
